  274. ===== Installation =====================================

  276. The installation procedure for NuTest is quite simple.  The
  277. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the
  278. entire process.  You will need about 2Mbytes of available disk space
  279. on the hard drive on which you plan to install NuTest.
  280.  
  281. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  282. NuTest.
  283.  
  284. IMPORTANT NOTE
  285.  
  286. You must use INSTALL to transfer the files from the installation disk,
  287. do NOT use COPY. This is because the files have been compressed to fit
  288. them on the  distribution disk and will not be useable in compressed
  289. form. INSTALL automatically  expands them as it copies them to your
  290. working directory.
  291.  
  292. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  293.  
  294. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  295.  
  296.    o  Place the NuTest distribution diskette in the
  297.       appropriate diskette drive.
  298.  
  299.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette
  300.       using File Manager or Program manager in the usual way.
  301.  
  302.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  303.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  304.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  305.       program will ask you for a destination directory and will copy
  306.       the NuTest files to that directory. If you so direct it, the
  307.       installation program will install executable programs and
  308.       documentation in other directories of your choice. It will NOT
  309.       modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  312. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  313.  
  314. If you downloaded NuTest from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  315. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  316. following steps.
  317.  
  318.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file in a temporary
  319.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  320.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  321.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  322.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  323.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  324.       directions for this from the same source from which you
  325.       received the package.
  326.  
  327.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program in the temporary directory
  328.       using File Manager or Program manager in the usual way.
  329.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any

  346. group in Program Manager or a new item in the Start button list

  352. be obscured by the Windows95 Task Bar when using certain screen
  353. resolutions. You can avoid this problem by setting the Windows95 Task
